To Know & To Accept
A lot of people mix up the 2. If they feel like they know something, they often confuse it with accepting that thing. Which is completely different.
To know of something just means you are intellectually capable to perceive that thing in your mind.
To accept something, however, requires your investment. It requires that you invest emotionally to that decision you make so that knowledge becomes a part of you. Which can be a very tough decision to make especially when it confronts your very core belief.
To know that there’s God, and to accept that there’s God, is a huge difference. That’s why we have atheists. They know, but don’t accept.
To know that there’s a problem, and to accept that there’s a problem, is a huge difference. That’s why we have problems that linger on for like forever. We know they exist, but we never commit to solving them.
To know, and to accept are 2 very different things. That’s why we have snobs who preach but don’t do on one hand, and we have people who are already on their way towards a better life on the other.
